Design of the 2023 Platinum American Eagle Coin
The 2023 issue American Eagle platinum coin features an image of the Statue of Liberty on the front. The word 'Liberty' is written over the top of the coin. To the right of her face, the coin's year of minting is inscribed. Just below this are the words 'In God We Trust'. Finally, on the left side of the coin are the words 'E pluribus unum', a latin phrase used to symbolise the system of democracy.
The reverse side of the coin features an image of an American Bald Eagle in flight, with the sun rising in the background. The words 'United States of America' are inscribed at the top of the coin, followed by its purity of .9995, its metal type, and finally its weight. At the bottom of the coin, its face value of $100 USD is inscribed.
About the American Eagle Series
The United States Mint is responsible for releasing the American Eagle coin series each year. The series was first released in 1986 in gold and silver. The coins were immediately popular.
