Design of the 2022 Silver Maple Leaf Coin
Each silver Maple Leaf coin features a portrait image of Queen Elizabeth II on the front, with the words ‘Elizabeth II’ written on the front. The coin’s face value and year of minting are located at the bottom of the image.
The reverse side of the coin features an image of the iconic Canadian Maple Leaf. The Canadian Maple Leaf is the official symbol of Canada, and the leaf image also features on the country’s flag.
At the top of the coin the word ‘Canada’ is written, with the coin’s purity engraved on either side of the leaf. Each coin has a purity of 9999 investment grade silver bullion, or 24 karat. The bottom of the coin says ‘Fine Silver’ both in English and French, the two official languages of the country. A small maple leaf hallmark can be seen towards the bottom of the coin, which acts to prevent counterfeiting.
