Umicore

A recycling-based refinery with multi-industry endeavors actively growing the company overall, Umicore stands among other refineries as a sustainable source for wealth building and protection.

History

Beyond Umicore’s forward-thinking approach to production, the company actually has a surprisingly rich history spanning all the way back to 1805 when Napolean Bonaparte provided Jean Dony with ownership and control over the first mine that would eventually become part of the Umicore family; the Vieille Montagne mine just outside of Moresnet between Germany and Belgium.

In 1837, that mine would become the focal point of a miner’s society that would, in due time, become Umicore. This string of associated mining companies would continue to grow and expand in and out of Europe; building an international chain of refineries driven to innovate the way the production process was handled to create a brighter future.

However, it wasn’t until 2001 that Umicore was officially founded and named as a single business entity. The name was decided upon by taking the first letters of Union Miniere; a nod to the first union of refineries that led to Umicore’s development over 100 years prior.

Today, Umicore looks dramatically different when compared to the original Union Miniere. While a large part of its production is in fact in refining, Umicore is more of an industrial group than purely a refining entity.

As such, the company has also focused far more heavily on sustainability than in prior parts of its history when it took much more traditional routes. It utilizes recycling techniques to create its various forms of bullion without the carbon footprint present in companies that manufacture their products entirely from scratch, and that makes this a private mint that matches the modern mindset of sustainability and Earth-conscious forward-thinking.

Products

The top product for Umicore’s refinery operation is its 1-kilo fine silver bar. The bar is struck with a pure .999% fine silver, and it is engraved with Umicore’s mint name, logo, metal type, purity, and weight on the obverse.

This is a larger bar, but thanks to silver’s fair buy-in price, it’s still not a major investment for even beginning investors, but it is a relatively safe way to protect and build wealth over time. On top of silver’s accessible buy-in price, there are also taxation loopholes allowing for reduced or fully-removed VAT fees to make the transaction even more lucrative.

These bars are available pre-owned and guaranteed by Umicore; sticking with the company’s dedication to sustainability and recycling as one of its core values.
