Design of the 2 Gram Credit Suisse Liberty Platinum Bar

The Credit Suisse Liberty platinum bar features an image of Lady Liberty on the front of each bar. The text at the bottom reads 'Liberty mini-gram'. The front of each bar features the Credit Suisse logo at the top. In the middle of the bar are its weight of 2 grams, its metal type, purity. These bars contain 9995 fine platinum bullion, which makes them investment grade. Finally, at the bottom of each bar, the serial number is located. These bars come in a plastic certicard that features the Credit Suisse logo. 

What is the Credit Suisse Liberty Series?

The Credit Suisse liberty series is a series of smaller sized bars issued by Credit Suisse in cooperation with Valcambi. The bars are only minted in smaller sizes, from 1 gram up to 20 grams. The liberty series was launched in gold, but recently the series has been released in platinum as well. Credit Suisse platinum liberty bars are available in 1 gram, 2 gram, 5 gram and 10 gram sizes. The bars are particularly unique in that many refineries only issue platinum bars in 1 ounce or 100 gram sizes. The platinum series is one of the first to be issued in smaller sized bars, similar to what is available for gold bars. 

The liberty series from Credit Suisse is unique in that it is the only bullion series available from the Swiss bank that features an artistic image on the bar. These bars were intiially designed for the American bullion market, but it quickly became evident that they were popular worldwide. The option to buy platinum bars in smaller denominations is new, and as stated before, the limited availability of smaller denomination platinum bars has made the Liberty series particularly popular.

In addition to the Liberty series, Credit Suisse also issues larger sized platinum bars in its traditional design. The most popular size is the 1 ounce Credit Suisse bar.  A 10 ounce platinum bar is also available from the Swiss bank.
