About the American Eagle Silver Coin Series - 2023 Edition
The 2023 American Eagle silver coin features a new design that was first released on the 2021 edition Eagles. This design was created by Emily Damstra and Michael Gaudioso. The American Eagle series was first launched in 1986, and 2021 marked the 35th anniversary of the coin. Each American Eagle coin features an image of Lady Liberty walking with the sun rising in the distance. She is cloaked in an American flag and carries olive branches in her arms. The word 'Liberty' is written above her image. On the reverse side of the coin is an image of a Bald Eagle in flight with some branches in its talons. The words 'United States of America' are written above.
Each coin has a purity of 999 and has a legal tender value of $1 USD, which means that each coin has been guaranteed by the United States government to that amount.
The American Eagle series benefits from US law which requires that all bullion coins manufactured on behalf of the US government are made with US-mined precious metals.
